Mrs. Vanina Hilaire
I have been dancing for over 20 years. My background covers many genres of dance techniques and styles. I have trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern (Horton, Limon and Graham), and West African. I have and continue to perform with independent companies throughout the tri-state area.
Teaching Philosophy
To strive to educate with a holistic approach, it not just the body working separately from the brain but they are working together as a unit. Everyone has a responsibility to the class, to be active participants as well as contributors. I am not just the facilitator but also a learner. My students are here to educate as well as learn from me. It is my mission as an educator to guide a student onto a path of self-discovery, allowing the learner to create his or her own personal awareness of truth and knowledge. My classes are both fun and educational, through which my students explore avenues of imagination, social growth, sharing and reflecting. With the changing time I believe in incorporating the use of technology as well as making literacy a primary focus. Students are challenged to go beyond the bounds of movement but to also find connections to everyday life lessons. By empowering young learning you prepare them for the future endeavors.
